Precious stones, the importance of traceability

In an effort to combine luxury and sustainability, FOPE applies the strictest standards when selecting its suppliers. Gold and precious stones often come from countries affected by wars or where labour rights are at risk, therefore it is paramount that the whole supply chain is reliable and certified.

The diamonds set in the brand’s jewellery are natural and can be defined ethical as they come from conflict-free zones. FOPE’s suppliers are equally committed and guarantee they respect the Kimberly Process, a multilateral agreement that ensures the profits derived from the diamond trade are not used to finance wars against governments. The same applies to the sapphires and rubies recently introduced in the new Vendôme collection - and used in two variants of the Solo collection.

Another fundamental topic in terms of sustainability is opposition to child labour: FOPE considers it a priority to demand that its suppliers never use children to quarry the precious stones used for its jewellery - and this obviously applies to the jewellery making as well , which is fully managed in the brand’s only factory, in Vicenza (Italy).
