THE FIRST, THE ORIGINAL
Eka – meaning ‘one’ in Sanskrit – is a whole new way of wearing gold bracelets.Based on one of Fope’s inventions from the 1950s, it applies the concept of flexibility to jewellery, blending together luxury and innovation. With its classic gold mesh design reworked in ultra-contemporary style, Flex’it has proved an instant global success.
Once an idea is finalised, the designer works with the in-house Research and Development team to decide how to turn it into jewellery. It’s a lengthy but essential process as the quality and strength of every piece must be guaranteed. Three-fold efforts went into making the Eka collection – including bracelets, necklaces, rings and earrings – with the gold mesh available in three different thicknesses.
Originally launched in 2007, Eka remains the brand’s best-selling design. The white gold rondelle bead is simple, the cut is straight and the diamonds are set in separate rows to add a touch of understatement. Today the beads have changed, taking on a softer, almost organic shape which reflects the bracelet’s mesh design.
