When and how did your passion for horses begin?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to pinpoint a specific moment. I was four years old when I first started riding, and quickly became obsessed with a love for horses.<\/p>\n

You come from a very sporty family, and both you and your brother are riders. How did you find your way into sports, and dressage especially?<\/p>\n

Sport was always a natural part of our lives. With dressage, it was the combination of athleticism and artistry that appealed to me. The connection, and the pursuit of harmony is a never-ending journey of learning and refinement.<\/p>\n

What life lessons <\/span>has professional horse riding<\/span> taught you?<\/span><\/p>\n

Our horses are like our mirrors. They reflect back our emotions, our intentions, and our true selves. Through them, I<\/span>\u2019ve learned the importance of self-awareness, of being honest with myself, and searching for inner harmony. Because <\/span>when you<\/span>\u2019re truly present and authentic, the partnership with your horse \u2013 and with others in life \u2013 becomes one built on trust and mutual understanding. You\u2019ve won four gold medals at the Olympics. What was your very first thought when you won the first one?<\/p>\n

It took me quite a long time to really understand what happened. It was a lifelong dream that suddenly came true after years of hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of my team. So it took a few mo<\/span>nths to reali<\/span>se that it wasn’t still just a dream. And I was so thankful for Dalera<\/span>, my horse, for my family, and for everyone who believed in us.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dressage is often described as a dialogue between rider and horse. Has your relationship with horses <\/span>influenced the way you <\/span>connect to people?<\/span><\/p>\n

Dressage teaches you to be present, to listen deeply, and to communicate, even without words. These are all qualities that are essential in any relationship, whether with a horse or a person. It<\/span>\u2019s about empathy, understanding, and building a connection based on mutual respect.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You<\/span>\u2019re a dressage rider and an Olympic champion, but also a mother, author, and businesswoman. How do you balance your professional and personal life?<\/span><\/p>\n

I have learned to prioriti<\/span>se, to be present in the moment, and to ask for help when I need it. I have a supportive family and team, which helps me to balance and achieve my goals.\u00a0 But I have also learned that it\u2019s okay for there to be an incomplete \u201c<\/span>to do<\/span>\u201d <\/span>list. <\/span>My children inspire me every day, and they remind me what truly matters in life. It<\/span>\u2019s about working on the balance between my passions and my responsibilities, but it can sometimes be a challenge.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Do you have any <\/span>personal rituals before a competition?<\/span><\/p>\n

I like to spend some quiet time with my horse, just connecting and centering myself.\u00a0 I have some breathing techniques and meditations to get myself focused and centered before a competition.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As a mother, what would you say to your children if they wanted to follow in your footsteps?<\/p>\n

I would encourage them to pursue their passions, whatever they may be. I would emphasi<\/span>se the importance of dedication and perseverance, but also the importance of finding love in the process.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In a past interview, you said that flexibility is one of the most important qualities in riding. What does that mean to you, and how do you apply it in your daily life?<\/p>\n

Flexibility is about being adaptable, both physically and mentally. In riding, it<\/span>\u2019s about being able to adjust to the horse’s needs in the moment, to respond to changes in the environment, and to stay calm and focused. In life, it<\/span>\u2019s about being open to new ideas, embracing change, and finding creative solutions to challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Time is my most valued luxury. Time and freedom to do what I love. Time with my family, time with my horses \u2013that’s true luxury.<\/p>\n

A mix of sentimental pieces, classic staples, and a few statement pieces for special occasions. And there\u2019s my wedding ring, and some Flex\u2019it pieces from FOPE.<\/p>\n
